This book addresses grief in a very real manner....the author writes from the viewpoint of a therapist and from her experience of witnessing her fiance's sudden accidental death from drowning. She offers some very realistic tools and exercises to help reduce the suffering; not to take the pain away. She speaks about grief not being a problem to be fixed, but how to maneuver through the journey. She also has an excellent section for loved ones trying to support and help the bereaved and how to stand with them in the pain and not take the pain away. And she offers a profound and meaningful Online Writing Course on Grief; whereby daily prompts are sent to you, to assist in evoking the emotions, feelings, etc. that often we hide from others. She offers a new model on grief in a culture that does not understand.
This book has been very helpful and I regularly refer to it for support and to remind myself I am not going crazy.
