Welcome to Grief and Sympathy News Edition Number 1.
“Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.” Dr Seuss
For those of you who have been waiting for a long time, thank you for your patience. We know that this first newsletter is way overdue, but we hope that what we have been doing in the meantime will be useful. Grief and Sympathy has been going for just over a year, and in that time we have created over 100 pages of information, and we have published some wonderful articles by our guest writers.
AND – we are just about to publish our first book – more on that below.
Some of our favourite pages have been the pages of quotes. If you like the one we’ve chosen above for today’s news, why not have a look at some of the more unusual but uplifting quotes we chose for the site: Quotes about Grief
Do you miss the person you were with your loved one?
We have been talking to a few people about this recently, as it is one of the things which is most difficult to come to terms with. So we have written a page about this. Why not let us know what you think in the comment box at the bottom of the page? Loss of Self-Identity after Bereavement or Divorce
Of course you don’t have to wait for this newsletter to find out what’s new on the site. Just go to the site and click on the What’s New tab on the navigation column and there you’ll find all the latest articles. What's New on Grief and Sympathy

If you have a question or just want to vent there are two places you can go.
Our Facebook page is for you.
Tell us how you feel and join in discussions with people who are going through similar experiences. Don’t be afraid of starting up a chat there. We’ll also let you know when there is something new on the site, and we’ll share interesting and useful articles. Grief and Sympathy Facebook Page
Our Bereavement forum is also for you.
Here you can ask a question which we will do our best to answer. Others can also comment on your question. On this forum, your question and all the answers and comments become a permanent page on the site. Your Questions
Sympathy Cards and Thank You Cards
We’ve been creative and have designed a series of Sympathy Cards and Thank You Cards based on the calming and uplifting photography that we have used throughout the Grief and Sympathy website. The proceeds from the cards will help us to keep the website up and running and growing, so please do have a look and tell your friends. Sympathy and Thank You Cards
And last but not least, our first book, “A healing hug for Alzheimer’s caregivers: all about caring, grieving and making life better” is to be published very shortly. This will be the first in a series of books on grieving which we will be working on in the coming year.
We’ll let you know as soon as it’s available.
Thank you for reading our first newsletter which we hope to follow up on a regular basis from now on. Keep an eye out for it in your inbox.
We wish you positive thoughts and much comfort in your grieving process.
